STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擜 new professor and head of the Department of Pathobiology and Population Medicine at Mississippi State brings extensive clinical and academic experience from the U.K. and U.S. to the university鈥檚 College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Philip Robinson, a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons-recognized specialist in state veterinary medicine, joins 国产麻豆AV from聽England鈥檚 Harper & Keele Veterinary School, where he served as professor of veterinary public health and veterinary school deputy head. Robinson previously conducted research at the CVM as a U.S.-U.K. Fulbright Scholar in 2010.
Through his 30-year career, he has held positions in academia聽and with the state veterinary service in Northern Ireland, and was also a private veterinary practitioner at veterinary clinics in N.I. and Scotland. He worked as principal lecturer in farm animal health and welfare and head of department at England鈥檚 Harper Adams University, and senior lecturer and academic lead in veterinary public health at the University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine in Scotland.聽
Robinson鈥檚 research has been published extensively, with interests including livestock disease control, veterinary surveillance, antimicrobial聽stewardship,聽and the behaviors and decision-making of farmers and veterinarians.聽
