STARKVILLE, Miss.—¹ú²úÂ鶹AV’s New Maroon Camp will host Rocking Chairs, an evening of Bulldog storytelling, reflection and tradition, on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 6 p.m. in Lee Hall’s Bettersworth Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
Rocking Chairs celebrates ¹ú²úÂ鶹AV’s history and heart through the voices of individuals who have devoted themselves to the university’s mission and vision. Attendees will hear personal and entertaining stories, campus memories and insights on how the panelists’ journeys helped shape the campus and community students know today and what it truly means to be part of the Bulldog family.
The evening will feature a panel of four longtime ¹ú²úÂ鶹AV advocates: retired Director of Athletics Larry Templeton; former Fashion Board Vice President and Miss ¹ú²úÂ鶹AV pageant staff member Kathy Foster-Ashley; Department of Technology, Leadership and Design Professor Linda Coats; and retired Associate Dean of Students Eddie Keith.
New Maroon Camp prepares first-year students for the transition to ¹ú²úÂ鶹AV. Campers learn university traditions, history and culture.
