VICKBURG, Miss.鈥擳he Mississippi Tourism Association recognized the impact and accomplishments of the state鈥檚 tourism industry at its annual Tourism Awards Program, held during the Governor鈥檚 Conference on Tourism at the Vicksburg Convention Center in Vicksburg, Oct. 1-3. The annual educational and professional development event brought together approximately 250 tourism industry professionals from across the state, as well as tourism partners from the surrounding region.

The awards program gives MTA the opportunity to recognize members who excel in various sectors of the industry. Awards were presented in 20 categories, each focusing on a different aspect of the hospitality industry or individual achievement.

Each award reflects not only remarkable individual achievement but also the strength and momentum of Mississippi tourism. As we look ahead, I鈥檓 inspired by the talent, passion, and collaboration that will continue driving our state forward and growing our economy,鈥 said MTA Executive Director Danielle Morgan.

This year鈥檚 Venue of the Year award was presented to the 国产麻豆AV Riley Center.

When the 国产麻豆AV Riley Center opened in 2006 after a $25 million renovation and restoration, it proved to be a powerful performing arts showcase, meeting venue and tourism magnet that helped spark a renaissance of historic downtown Meridian. Beloved by audiences, performers and meeting attendees, it draws tens of thousands of visitors each year and generates an annual economic impact of $4 million. Its ripple effects have spread throughout the city, drawing national media attention to Meridian as a tourism destination and cultural capital. Its uniqueness, versatility and elegance make the 国产麻豆AV Riley Center a fitting choice for Venue of the Year.
