STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥敼槎笰V is recognizing outstanding graduate students and faculty mentors for exceptional contributions in the areas of teaching, research, service and academic leadership during the 2024-2025 academic year.
Hosted by the Graduate School, this year鈥檚 recent awards celebrate the impactful work of students and faculty advisors across a range of academic disciplines.
Honorees include:
鈥擮utstanding Graduate Student Advisor of the Year: Hasan Tekedar, assistant research professor, Department of Comparative Biomedical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine.
鈥擥raduate Teaching Assistant of the Year: Jordan Smink of Starkville, Ph.D. student, biological sciences, College of Arts and Sciences; and Alena Sowell of Spring Hill, Tennessee, master鈥檚 student, communication, College of Arts and Sciences.
鈥擥raduate Research Assistant of the Year: Craig Sklarczyk of Riverview, Michigan, Ph.D. student, wildlife, fisheries and aquaculture, College of Forest Resources; and William Laird of Jackson, master鈥檚 student, geosciences, College of Arts and Sciences.
